Water Safety Courses

Swiftwater Rescue 1 (8 hours)

Gain the confidence that you need to move your rafting, canoeing and kayaking skills to the next level. This course focuses on self-rescue skills so that you can look after yourself when out on the water and is great for those just entering the whitewater arena or those who have already dipped a paddle and found the water to their liking! This one-day course offers a combination of theoretical and practical skill development with certification provided by the Lifesaving Society.

Prerequisites: Standard First Aid (required for certification to be issued); ability to swim 50m head up wearing a PFD and helmet.

Swiftwater Rescue 2 (8 hours)

The dynamic environment of moving water must be treated with respect, especially when the adrenalin is running high during the coordination of a rescue. Learn how to be an asset in a rescue situation with this one-day course that builds on the personal rescue principles learned in Swiftwater Rescue 1. Certification is provided by the Lifesaving Society.

Prerequisites: Standard First Aid (required for certification to be issued); Swiftwater Rescue 1; ability to swim 50m head up wearing a PFD and helmet.
