GPS Use Clinics & Outings

The Global Positioning System (GPS) is an amazing tool for navigation, but only if you know how to use it. It is especially helpful in low visibility conditions, such as in whiteouts or on glaciers. This course teaches you to use the basic functions of a GPS unit and also covers the features and limitations of GPS technology. Discover how to use a GPS unit in the morning then spend the afternoon getting some hands-on practice outdoors. Learn to find your location, mark waypoints and follow a route you have created.

Prerequisite: Map Reading Clinic or equivalent experience.
