The introductory avalanche courses (AST Level 1) offered here in Calgary through the Outdoor Centre, are a perfect place to start, but as you gain experience, or want to go into more complex and challenging areas, you should consider taking a more advanced course.
The one Day Skills Update and Refresher will provide the experienced person with the latest in this ever evolving area.
The Avalanche Long Weekends are the perfect upgrade to the introductory course.
The Avalanche Seminar is for both the beginner looking for a thorough introduction, and someone looking for a skills upgrade.
