“The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.”
This course takes fear out of the equation, replacing it with a comprehensive plan to maximize the chances of survival in the case of an emergency. Although there are a limited number of individuals who have many years of training and can survive with a “box of matches and a bent pin,” the average person doesn’t have the time or inclination to learn skills to this extreme degree. Thus, they must instead be prepared! This course prepares the average person for the unexpected and provides the tools needed to competently bring an emergency situation to a successful outcome. The course is delivered over two evenings, plus one field day with an “overnight” survival component.
Core Components include: Survival Psychology, Planning and Response, First Aid Basics, Review of Concerns, Environmental Emergencies (Heat, Cold, Lightning, Drowning), Outdoor First Aid Kits, Shelter and Clothing, Fire Building, Signaling, Hydration and Food, and Personal Survival Equipment.
