Wapta Icefield Glacier Hikes

Hikers, here is your chance to experience the incredible world of glaciers and peaks! The Wapta Icefields are famous for their unsurpassed beauty and accessibility. Stop at an alpine hut each night and carry a pack that is a little lighter than required for backpacking. These hikes are an ideal introduction to glacier hiking on gentle glaciers that run from Peyto Lake in the north to the Trans-Canada highway in the south. The three-day hike traverses from Bow Lake across the Bow and Peyto Glaciers to Peyto Lake. The five day hike is the classic Wapta traverse from Peyto Lake to Sherbrooke Lake via the Peyto, Bow, Balfour and Scott Duncan Huts. Weather permitting, we will ascend very easy peaks adjacent to our route. No special equipment or climbing experience is required. Includes: accommodation and glacier safety gear. >>Register Now

Glacier Circle

This extraordinary hike will take you into an extremely remote area of the Selkirks. The second day we hike cross the Asulkan Glacier, over Youngs Peak, across Geikie Glacier and drop down into the Glacier Circle amphitheatre. Day three can be a rest day, or you hike the DeVille Glacier. On day four we hike out via the Illecillewaet Glacier. >> Register Now

Starbird Range

The Starbird range is a remote group of granite spires and glaciers in the Purcells. We enter the group via the Granite Glacier, traverse the North Star Glacier and exit the group via the Welsh Lakes. These glaciers are for the most part gentle, although there is a short section of loose and steep scree on day three. Since we will be camping, you must be able to carry a heavier pack for a 6-7 hour day. >> Register Now
