Climbing
In 1986, the Outdoor Centre opened the first public, sport climbing facility in the city of Calgary. The indoor climbing facility has both a Climbing Wall and a Bouldering Wall located in the Outdoor Centre. Both climbing structures are open to students, staff, faculty, alumni and the general public.

Climbing Wall
The 40-foot indoor climbing wall at the Outdoor Centre still remains the first and only of its kind in Calgary due to its unique features, which include molded concrete panels embedded with real quartzite that are set at different angles with overhangs. The wall simulates outdoor climbing and is designed for leading on gear, anchor building, rappelling, rock rescue and crevasse rescue.
