Become a confident off-road rider this summer! Begin at the U of C campus with exercises to improve your body positioning, balance, shifting, braking, and control. End the day by practicing your newly acquired skills on a guided, single-track trail ride off campus. Bike fitting, equipment selection, and minor trailside repairs are also covered. Progress your skills to help you negotiate more challenging terrain while crosscountry biking. Start the morning at the U of C campus with exercises to help you learn how to wheel lift, manual, hop, climbing and descending techniques, cornering, ratcheting and other specialized skills! Finally, apply your new skills on a single-track dirt trails off campus in the afternoon. Receive a 10% discount on bike and helmet rentals for all courses. Prerequisite: Mountain Bike 101 or equivalent experience.

Learn from patient, knowledgeable experts that won’t leave you in the dust! This five-week series starts with basic instruction and gradually builds on those skills to help you ride more challenging terrain. The first three evenings consist of skillbuilding at the U of C and nearby single-track trails. Travel to Kananaskis Country for the last two rides. No experience necessary. Ready to take the next pedal? The first day will be at the U of C for a review of the skills learned in the Women’s Mountain Bike Series. Then you will continue to build on what you know with an evening at Bowmont Park for you second class, and an evening in Kananaskis for your third class. This is 4 week course will end with a full day in Kananaskis to help cement your comfort on your bike. Prerequisite: Women’s Mountain Bike Series or equivalent experience.
